I now have the bare chassis to my 1956 Dodge sitting in my garage. I am going to take this opportunity to rebuild the front end, steering box, install the new rear plus front and rear disk brakes and all new brake lines. Has anyone ever pulled apart the front end on a 55 or 56 without the engine or body in place? I am concerned about what will happen as it comes apart, I am told that the weight of the car is used to hold the coil springs in place. (no spring compressor necessary). Is this thing going to fly apart in my face and should I swing the motor back in to do this part of the job? Nick - let me know when you have some free time, I am ready to tear into this thing whenever you are. Scott 1956 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer
