Scott, According to the Parts Book, there is only one Center Link P/N for all V8 Dodge and Plymouths for 55/56. All of the V8 tie rod ends, control arm bushings, pitman and idler arms, are also the same. The 6 cylinders are completely different and do not even have a center link. There are 4 different vertical support/king pin/steering knuckel combinations: 1. 10 inch brakes: 6 cly only 2. 11 inch brakes: std on all V8 3. 12 inch brakes: Chrysler brakes used on D500, w/o PS 4. 12 inch brakes: Chrysler brakes used on D500, w PS You have option #2. There is no difference between PS and manual. Note: if the steering box seal on the column shaft leaks, oil goes up the column and out on the carpet. This was the situation on my parts car. These cars drive so easy without PS, that you only think about wanting it, just a little, at parking manuvering speeds. This is due to the large diameter steering wheel and gearbox ratio. I need help again. I was trying to order the front end rebuild parts for my 56 Dodge Custom Royal. It is a v8 car. It seems that there is a difference between the power steering and non-power sterring parts. (specifically the center link) Now my car was originally NON power steering. When I put her back together I am changing over to power steering. I have the complete Power Steering columnm from the horn to the pitman arm. I was under the impression that I could just bolt in the new column and steering box and attach to the existing steering linkage. Now I am not so sure. Has anyone done this conversion. Will it go together as I expect? The next question is do I order parts for the non-power steering car (I think this is what I should do, if the conversion is as I anticipate) or for the power steering car?
As always thanks again,
