Hi fellow Forwardlookers, I've started to restore my '57 Chrysler New Yorker last fall, and for the whole winter I've been trying to gather as much literature as possible. I've got now almost everything, except for a parts manual. The only thing that I've found is '55-58 Mopar Parts Manual for Chrysler passenger cars' which costs ~$140. Is there a separate '57 Chrysler parts manual which could be a bit less pricy? If not, would somebody have this 55-58 manual for sale for less? Another thing that kinda puzzles me is: while I was restoring the brakes I noticed that all the Expander plates from the wheel cylinders were missing. There were just a spring, rubber cups and pistons per cylinder. The rear brakes were leaked a bit (on the other side I found some brake fluid leaked to the wheel bearings). I tried to find the expander plates from our local parts store, but they didn't sell them separately - have to by the whole cylinder. So my questions are: are those expanders mandatory (was that the reason for the leaks) and where would I get them separately (probably any 1 1/8" expander plate would do)? I wouldn't want to replace the cylinders as they were excellent after small honing. Thanks, - Risto Kivela, FINLand - -==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==- 1957 Chrysler New Yorker 2DHT with 392 HEMI 1990 Ford Thunderbird SuperCoupe -==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==- |
