Well my 56 Dodge is at the metal shop and on a rotisserie. The shop warned
me that it would probably be worse than I thought ... and it is.
The replacement rockers won't work because the rocker box is rotted out
clear back to the rear wheel well and in some places a few inches into the
floor. We will neeed to construct a completly new complete inner and outer
rocker panel that goes in from the bottom of the car. 6 of the body mount
areas need to be rebuilt and the boxes that form the bottom of the A pillers
need to be resonstructed.
I have not even got to the 1/4 panel and fender repairs.
The parts that were rusted (and well hidden by undercoating) are really bad.
I am probably going a step or two over and above what would normally be done
but at least everything will be correct and solid when I am done.
This process does sometimes get depressing though.
