Yes, in 1956 Chrysler Corporation (along with the rest of the American auto
industry) went to a 12-volt, negative ground system.   The Chrysler Imperial
went to 12-volt/negative in 1953.   Up to those points, Mopars had a 6-volt,
positive ground electrical system.
