Scott, All 56 Dodge/Plymouth (2dr sedan, 2dr HT, 4dr sedan, wagon, conv) front left door locks (latch) are the same, except the 4 door hard top. P/N 1683 529. The rear is different. The 55 is different. The 56 Dodge/Plymouth door locks and outside door handles are fragile and prone to break. Keeping them lubricated and free of rust/dirt is recommended. Spares are also highly recommended. All left side door handles, front and rear, are interchangeable. Same for the right side. Dave Homstad 56 Dodge D500

Can anyone tell me if the drivers side door latch assembly (that includes
the star shaped rotor that latches the dood closed) for a 56 Dodge 2 door is
the same as the 4 door. Also if any other years or models interchange.
Pulled mine out tonight and the rotor is cracked in half.
Another search begins. If anyone has one they will part with please let me
know.
