| Hi All!  And a Very Merry Christmas!
In the spirit of Christmas, let me say that I too saw the DeSoto on line
and sent a note to the dealer questioning its authenticity (no reply as yet)
- but  regardless of its authenticity and colors - it sure is a nice looking
FWDLK hardtop!  The DeSotos in 57 were arguably the best looking along with
the Chrysler 2dr h/ts out of the whole corporate lineup.

If someone wanted to buy this car, they should inspect it physically, then
deal with the owner re its pedigree. I'll bet the owner didn't know if it
was a true Adventurer either and a careful buyer could probably make a good
deal for that car.

 Hi, Forward Lookers
Aside from everything else that's wrong with this car, I believe '57
Adventurers were all either black, gold, or white with corresponding
two-toning in white, gold or black. I've only seen one interior, which was
basically gold with black and white trim. About the only thing "Adventurous"
about this car is the carburation (and maybe the asking price!).

 Happy Holidays to all,

 Ed,
That is a pretty poor restoration if it is an Adventurer! The nameplate

 on
the rear fenders is "Fireflite". If it was an Adventurer, it should say"Adventurer" and is missing the Forward Look logo on the rear fenders.
Also, if it was an Adventurer, there should be five trim strips on the top
of the trunk lid. Cannot make out the namplate on the front fender - it
looks like Adventurer. But, if was an Adventurer, there should be

 nothing
there. The Firedome and Fireflite hardtops had "Sportsman" nameplates atthat location, though.

As for the interior, the seats are done in the style of the Firedome,

 never
mind the Fireflite or Adventurer. The pictures do not show enough of thefront door panels to determine what series they are from. I am unable to
find a photo of an interior shot of the rear panels of an Adventurer to
compare to this one. The rear interior panels are incorrect for either a
 Firedome or Fireflite hardtop.

Finally, if it is a 1957 Adventurer, it should be a 345-cid hemi, not a
341-cid. Would like to hear his reply, if you get one.

There's a 1957 "Adventurer" for sale on Collector Car Online. I havewritten the seller. It appears to be all wrong, and I believe the car

 is
 a
Fireflite with a doctored-up engine compartment. Just warning all of
 you
who may be searching for things....
If I get a reply from the seller, I will let you know.

 Here's the car:
