Well its a pretty slow day on this list so I figure I'll update everyone on my progress on the 56 Dodge. It got cold here in NJ so I borrowed a 55,000 BTU kerosene heater, the kind that resemble a jet engine. Heats up the garage nice and toasty in about 15 minutes. Its nice to work in a tee shirt this time of year. Now I can relate to the Australians! The dash is out, no visible rust on the windshield channel. I removed everything from the firewall, parking brake hardware, washer pump, hoses, wiring, cables, cowl vents, wiper motor, wiper pivots etc. Does not look like much but it adds up. I was surprised to see that the rubber at the base of the hood on the cowl was held on by glue and NAILS! or pins that could best be described as nails, what were they thinking? No wonder these cars get so wet inside. They come out real nice if you tap them from the bottom with a flat punch (only helps if you have the dash out) The washer pump is still good. I learned that the master cyl from a 74 dodge van will fit on the existing studs but the rod has to be modified slightly. Can anyone tell me if a MC from a power brake car is the same as the mc for a non power brake application? Also a small pry bar and razor blade work real well to remove the rubber on the cowl and doors without damaging the rubber too much. The seats and carpet come out tonight. Have a good day. Scott
