[FWDLK] 6 Volt-> 12 Volt conversion

The subject says it all. This is a '55 Chrysler Windsor Wagon-301 poly.
It's been recommended that I convert it from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system.
Any thoughts on how to do this? Anyone done this? Happy with the results?
