To all FWL members...The controversy of the D500-1 1956 Dodge existance continues to be a mystery...According to the attached from Mr Dupont, his 1956 Dodge D500-1 is and I quote "rumored to be the only remaining example"...I believe rumored is the key word...The definition of rumor according to the Dictionary is..."a story that is passed around, but that may not be true"...My contention is there in fact are more than one D-500-1 still in existance today...I do not disagree with Mr. Dupont that his 1956 Dodge in fact is a D500-1, it appears to be...but I also believe mine is a survivor as well... I quote an article by Dennis Kennedy regarding the D500 1956 Dodge in the WPC magazine in May,1996..... "a few 'street' D-500-1s are known to exist". also, "The survival rate of 'for racing only' vehicles is estimated to be not more than 5 to 10". I quote Mr. Dupont , "Dennis Kennedy is the foremost authoritity on the D500"...With that in mind I believe Mr. Duponts is not the only remaining example...Take a look at the December Cars & Parts magazine and you will see another...
