If the car was rewired with negative instead of postive ground, the easiest thing to do is simply reverse the battery cables back to Positive ground. Other than having to repolarize the voltage regulator/generator (a 30-second job), there should be no changes required. Sounds like somebody simply goofed when they rewired the car - there is no real need/advantage to switching polarity unless you also change to a 12-volt system. Bob |
