I expect the engine would have correctly been silver and when rebuilt sometime got painted the then standard Chrysler green. Happened to my Desoto Suburban before I got it and is still ugly green. Did you get the removable Plexiglas windows or the later roll up style? Have 50 meadowbrook parts car and great original woodgrained dash for someone one of these days if they will step forward! Also fantastic original bumpers.--plus a few mousenests! ----- Original Message ----- From: <GoDesoto@AOL.COM> To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@LISTS.PSU.EDU> Sent: Monday, March 13, 2000 11:55 AM Subject: [FWDLK] Engine Color > I know this is not a forward look car but I just added a 1950 Dodge Wayfarer > Convt. to my stable. Does anyone know the correct engine color. I saw in > Collectible automobile magazine a photo of one restored where the engine was > Silver (similar to my 1959 and 1956). But when looking at the engine closely > I can see it was once Green. So what should it be Green or Silver? > Thanks! > Russell > 1959 Desoto > 1956 Coronet > 1950 Wayfarer >
