My 56 Dodge has no inner fender protection and undercoating sprayed similar to the descriptions I hear about Plymouth fenders. Since my car is presently disassembled, I am planning to sand blast the inner fender to remove surface rust, repair any hidden damage (I don not expect any), coat underside of fender with POR15 and the apply a coating of urethane bed liner to the entire inside surface. The finish will be same color as body (as was done from the factory). I am thinking this will 1) Prevent further rusting inside fender, 2) provide sound deadening, 3) provide clean finished look inside fender. Any opinions from the group? |
