Hi Spencer I might be way out in left field but I just had the engine in my 1959 Plymouth Suburban rebuilt. It was a Canadian built 313 V8 and it had the adapter. I have been told that Canadian built cars have the adapter and that a 318 us built car doesn't, but have not seen one to verify. The Suburban also has a 3 speed torqueflite and the adapter has a section in the bottom missing so you can reach up and take all the nuts off the torque converter that fasten it to the crankshaft. that's my two cents Burt -----Original Message----- From: Spencer Louthan <slouthan@ARIZONAONE.COM> To: L-FORWARDLOOK@lists.psu.edu <L-FORWARDLOOK@lists.psu.edu> Date: Thursday, November 25, 1999 9:30 PM Subject: [FWDLK] adapter >hello readers, I'm looking for any info concerning an old aluminum adapter >plate I've come across which fits between the block and transmission.
