Hi Foward Lookers, Since the subject of Danbury Mint has appeared today, I would be interested in knowing if anyone else on the list who ordered the 300C convertible was a bit disappointed by one important area of the model: the height and slope of the windshield. To my eye, the windshield is too high and too upright. This is something that does not come across in the advertising because the model is photographed from a high angle. And I don't believe my particular example is an exception. I've seen several of the Danbury 300s on Ebay and the images all indicate the same problem. I find this especially disappointing considering the excellence of the rest of the model. When they got so many little things right, how could they mess up something major? Images I've seen of the Franklin 300C convertible indicate the windshield height and angle are correct. I hope to soon have the Franklin so both can be compared, side by side. This discussion could be helpful to those FLMLers who are considering purchase of one of these models. They aren't cheap, so further feedback from Forward Look enthusiasts might be appreciated. Both companies send entirely too much advertising for non-auto items, though the mailings from Franklin stopped after a few months. Danbury continues without let up. Guess that's because I've ordered more from them than Franklin. Bruce in Tulsa 1960 DeSoto Fireflite 1967 Imperial |
