you might want to bring along a spare can of gas to get you to the next town, a credit card wouldnt hurt either... i was going to drive from SF area to paso robles, we had the same problems, what do i bring, how much do i bring, we made a few test drives around town just for kicks, the generator took a dump at the top of hiway 9, we decided to push it since we were at the summit... got the car going about 20-30 mph and click it into gear, the motor turned over and everything, but didnt start... well by the time we figured out what had happened we were at the bottom of that hill and looking up 2 miles to the top of the next. it turned out i forgot to leave the key on (oops)... well we ended up pushing a 1960 dodge matador 2 miles up the next hill then leaving the key ON clicked it in gear and ive never had a problem since. dont over look the simple things, especially when they can hurt something that you cant find parts for (like a 1960 tranny). just my two cents ray 1960 dodge matdor |
