Sorry to bomb the whole list with this, but my mail program doesn't show the originator of a message to the Forward Look list, just the forward look address! This will change in a few weeks, but for now if you're sending a message to me please put your email address in the body of the message, thanks! >i can probably set you up with a complete engine set as well as gasket >setup. need to know what size your planning on cutting to or you might >want to wait to see what i can find >regards, >mike hershenfeld >www.mikesmopar.com Mike, Thanks for the reply. What would be the easiest would be to stick in a good 318 in place of the bad one I have. I'm capable of rebuilding the 318, but I'm having problems finding the time. I would really like a turn-key unit (I don't have to take it apart and check bearings, compression, etc.) since if I have to rebuild it I'm back at my starting point. I would like to add a four-barrel to the engine (hopefully with an aluminum intake manifold). I already have a sunk cost in a new dual exhaust system. My back-up would be to find a good wedge to put in the car. I would have to change the bellhousing and torque convertor, but besides that it will fit. A 361 would be the best since the 361 was offered on 61 Furys, although my testosterone side on me says stick in a 440! My last option is to rebuild the engine I have. I'm already looking at new pistons, cam, etc. - about $1200 - $1500 with me doing a lot of the labor (this is on a $1500 car!). But, I'd rather spend bucks/time on an engine I don't have to rebuild for a while than rebuilding the engine I got! Thanks, Bruce Clough cloughbt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
