Thank you all for your input! I guess the key here is the last sentence in my question e mail. It said, "What would you have done? You tell me, and then I'll tell you what I did." The car has been done for about 16 years. And I drive it a LOT. I guess that I risk being stoned to death in my bastard car. :-) Just please dont scratch the paint!Yes, I took most of the Fury stuff and put it on my Belvedere. What I ended up with is not an original Fury. I didn't build it to sell or decieve anyone. I built it for my wife and I to enjoy! And we do.The only problem I have is what do I call it! So........... given that, I call it pretty. Cause it is! It seems that everywhere I go with it, some one comes up to me and tells me that they had one JUST like it years ago. I smile and ask if it was a green Fury and they tell me yes. When I got the car, it had a 400 big block in it with a B&M quick click shifter or the floor. It now has a 59 318 4 barrel in it. And I intend to keep a 318 in it. We did all of the work ourselves except the paint. We did the body work. In my view, a car is only original once. That is from the factory. Although I do appreciate the work and love that goes into restoring a car to like original condition. I thank you all for your thoughts on this! Enclosed is a pic of my 57. Don |
