A side note on the '56 "Fury" to be sold on Sunday at the Missouri Auction:
This is not a genuine Fury. It is a Belvedere Hardtop with Fury trim. The
engine is a 277. It does have the Fury dash w/ tach.
The current owner of the car, Mr. Loyd Groshong, was building this "Fury" more
as a fun car than as an original. (I talked to him on the phone a couple
weeks ago) He said the frame has been stripped and repainted, most of the
bodywork is completed, the roof was painted, a new headliner and windshield
installed, and the car is driveable.
