look for rust starting at front of Rocker Panel and the bottom of rear fenders. look at inner panels of fenders. Seam on arm rest will be going bad. Steering wheel cracked if in the sun much, and the Dash pad will be curling up in most cases. Most 55 pads will not be removed without removing windshield first but you can use 56 windshield post extensions to make do. In general body fit and corrosion are the worst enemies, with the upholstery going bad next. Engine may suffer from too many cold starts and be smoking and noisy. ---------- From: SMITHJILLSCOTT[SMTP:SMITHJILLSCOTT@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 17, 1998 8:57 PM To: tehoema@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx; L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [FWDLK] 55 New Yorker I have a chance this week to look at a 55 New Yorker sedan for sale. I know its hard to set a value with out anyone seeing this car ,but what would be a ballpark price range ?. Thanks Clay Smith |
