[FWDLK] SouthWind heaters

I have a '56 Windsor with a SouthWind gas heater. Does anyone know how
it's supposed to work?
Mine makes a lot of exhast smoke and gets VERY Hot-fast. Is there a
thermostat device that controls the amount of heat that it makes?
