Years ago, as I've said, I went to 12 v on my 55 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe [331 hemi] and it went for years with no trouble. Actually, the starter was used LESS because it spun the engine over quicker and it started faster. With 6 v that big old Hemi churned over in the cold. And once started, you could not hear that engine- just all those double belts squeeking. I miss that car. Long Live Christine |
