[FWDLK] Lowrider Belv'

Check out the Nostalgia Sketchpad in the May Rod & Custom. There's an
illustration of
a chopped and lowered 57 Belvedere. The magazine goes on to say "The chop
would be a bit involved, but you can't beat the desired effect. Mild
shaving, a tubular grille, and headlight hoods extend out an inch or so
complement the Chrysler wires, wide white sidewalls, and severe lowering.
According to Hemmings Motor News, these cars are quite underpriced. Just
watch out for the demon-rust;all 50's Mopars were prone to it in a big way,
so find the best, most rust-free starter before undertaking the Mayflower of
your dreams." Well known artist Thom Taylor did the drawing. Nicely done.
Also, there is a cool looking 60 Fury taken at the Lone Star Nationals in
Texas. I think you'll see more and more finned Mopars at shows..
Speaking of lowered Belvederes, I understand all you have to do is adjust
the torsion bars to lower the front end of my 58. What else needs to be done
(alignment etc)?
Thanks (not that I'm going to lower the car...yet)
   Todd
