[FWDLK] Weatherstrip Help

I purchased new trunk weatherstrip because mine was fried by the
Texas sun.  Anyone have suggestions on how to dig out the old
stuff and get rid of the old adhesive without gouging up the
trough it sits in?  I don't want to start rust!
