Hi All, Just a note to let y'all know that the new web server has passed it first big set of tests. I'm now starting on developing the databases that will drive the real 'guts' of the site. Before I dive too deeply into that project, however, I'd like to get our own mail server up and running. It will be easiest to provide only POP3 and IMAP4 mail service on the server. You'll all have to use a program like Netscape Messenger, Eudora, or Outlook to receive your messages. There are some nice programs out there that support web-based email, but they seem out of our price range ($500 and up!). Does anyone have strong thoughts on needing web-based email? I will probably be using a program called Mail-Gear that's freeware for unlimited POP/IMAP users. (If anyone has other recommendations, please let me know - I'm open to suggestions at this point.) Another possibility is to set up POP/IMAP mail and use a service like Yahoo! Mail that lets a user check other accounts (i.e. forwardlook.net). If anyone has strong opinions either way, please drop me a line and I'll take everyone's advice into consideration and make a decision. Also, does anyone know a good solution for removing clear anodizing from aluminum trim? I'm buffing some now, and while I can buff the anodizing clean off of the parts, I figured there has to be a more elegant and easier solution. Thanks in Advance, -Dave |
