"For my 17th birthday, my dad bought me
a brand new 1957 Plymouth Fury. I kept the car until 1962 when I bought
a '60 T-bird. I regretted selling the Plymouth the day I sold it, and in
1989, I started looking for another. It took over six years to find one,
but I finally purchased one in Florida in September 1995, needing a total
restoration. I'm not sure how it ended up in Florida, as it was sold new
in Canada and was sold to me as a Georgia car. The car was complete, including
the Fury 318cid V800 engine with two Carter WCFB 4v carburetors and the
correct air cleaners. It also had all the gold anodized trim and the usual
hard to find pieces. It took almost three years to completely restore the
car, finally finishing it in April 1998. I drive it to local shows where
it has been a trophy winner and people stopper. It went to Chryslers at
Carlisle and to Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie, Pennsylvania. In Macungie
it came together with a '56 and '58 Plymouth Fury, the first time
in over 25 years that all three Golden Furys were together at Macungie."
