Dave - If the engine looks light to medium gray, it's silver; if it looks black, then it's red. To the best of my understanding, the air cleaners on the 318/326 for 59-60 in Plys and Dodges had a red air cleaner for the 2bbl carb. I think the big blocks had black air cleaners (except the dual quads, of course).
