The '59 Imperial that Ron is working on is mine and it did have more
rust than we thought when the restoration work started. I bought that
car in July 1967 and even then it had places rusted through on the
front fenders. It was originally an Omaha car and I'm sure they used
plenty of salt on the streets in the winter. The rear fenders under the
lower chrome trim pieces were really rusted bad - also some of the
trunk floor, the front driver's side floor and most of the body mounts.
I did get a parts car that had spent most of it's life in Arizona. The
front fenders were in pretty good shape and took much less labor to fix
up than the original ones on my car would have taken. We also cut out
some sections of the rear fender and other places along the quarter
panels to patch bad places on the body.
I just paid a visit to Ron's shop on Tuesday (11 JAN) and they have the
fenders, doors, trunk lid, and hood all painted. Frame assembly is in
progress with the wheels, brakes, engine, transmission, suspension, and
drive shaft all reconditioned and back together. They are getting close
to having the bodywork done. I have lots of pictures.

he doesn't have any pictures of it on his web site but it does have a
lot of pictures of his work.? He has done a 55 300, a 60 300 and is
currently doing the 59 Imperial and another 60 300.? He does more
street rods than anything else, but does a great job on originals
too??? Check??? www.ronsrestoration.com
