Neal,
That would be very cool to meet Ex, Jr, and a big EXtra
incentive to attend Chryslers at Carlisle this summer!
In addition to inviting him to that, Dave Stragand over at
the Forward Look has also invited him to join that mailing list, if only for a
short while--wouldn't that be cool to be able to ask questions and join in
discussion with him? (Speaking of which, those IMLers who happen to own
1955 through 1961 Imperials would probably also enjoy being members of that fine
club, which can be found at http://www.forwardlook.net/ )
Also, IML members who have been here less than 2 years
might not be familiar with a cool styling EXercise--a "modern
interpretation" of classic Imperials--that Ex, Jr did on behalf of the Online
Imperial Club. He called the car the Imperial Eagle, and gave it some
pretty exciting styling, as well as a way-out powerplant!
You can see Ex, Jr's concept here:
Also on the OIC website is an "interview" (a conversation,
really) I had with Ex, Jr back in January of 2003:
And last, but not least, is a good article from
Collectible Automobile magazine about his dad, Virgil Exner, who designed our
wildest-looking Imperials (including my '56):
