Re: IML: Imperial RV

RE the RV's with Imperial front end.
I submit that as I always have said - as far as I can recall; "that beauty is fleeting." That being said, I was watching the teardrop RV's with horrible insomnia and then channel surfed and missed the Imperial/Mercedes RV! Maybe I will use a Christmas gift card for an 'Art Car' book. I once threatened to cover my 53 nicknamed "Baby Doll" with about 100 Baby Dolls and maybe an inflated leg or 2 coming out from under the back trunk. Karin advised against it and so I had to focus on being wacko in other venues. Yes, listening to my spouse on occasion pays dividends - I think....
There is a PS....Costco had a great car book with big 1-2 pages color shots "The Great Book of Automobiles" and Barnes n Nobles had a good selection of car books in their bargain books and yes there are Imperials in these here books! I would urge you to flip through the pages rather quickly though. Why? "Because Beauty is Fleeting!" :) Must I repeat myself?

Hi everyone:

I caught that episode last night and if you get a chance to watch it, watch it.

This guy from Finland mated up two Mercedes wagons and glued on a the front of what the narrator said was, "this guys favourite car, a 1962 Chrysler Imperial..." So, this vehicle is two Mercedes wagons glued together with the front of an Imperial. I was dumbstruck (my wife says that is a common condition with me around Imperials).

This fellow also has an "RV" that is two Chevrolet full size vans (Vandura's????) glued together PLUS he has taken a third full size Chevrolet van and made it in to a towable sauna -- the Finns call it "Saw-oohna."

Check it out.

Hello again:

I checked the Travel Channel schedule and the episode is called "RV Crazy" and it is on tonight at 11 pm ET if any of you are interested in seeing this extreme machine. I think that it will also be on at various other times this coming week, but don't know for sure.

I don't know if any of you IMLers are Travel Channel watchers as well, but I happened to be watching the Travel channel last night (episode about RVing, and more specifically vintage teardrop trailers), but they showed a number of people's modified RVs. Among these was the craziest RV I have ever seen, it was a 61 Imperial front end, married to some other car's rear end. I wasn't sure by the glimpse I got what kind of rear end they had stuck on it, but it looked to be a German station wagon of some sort. I think that it was a 1961 Imperial, but as I said I only got a glimpse and the 61-63 front ends are so similar.

You all might want to watch for another running of this episode...that was a trip!
