IML: red dash light?

Dietmar asked . . . what the red light in the 1960 dash is for ..... It
never worked since I drive the car ...
It could be one of two things. I hasten to add I do not own a 1960. There
are two red lights on my 58. The larger of the two, between the two main
dials, flashes when the parking brake is on. Above it is a smaller light
that indicates that the high beam head lights are on. Modern cars usually
use a blue light and a symbol for this purpose. The red light on my car is
unmarked. I noticed it came on when I pushed the floor button for the high
beams. At the time I did not know what the floor button was for and I was
just playing around, since I did not have an owner's manual.
