IML: Terry Cowan passing

It saddens me to announce the passing of Terry Cowan, also of the Metalshapers group. He died suddenly this past Saturday of an apparent massive heart attack at the young age of only 55 (today would have been his 56th birthday). There's a Yahoo! group and he also had done www.metalshapers.org organizing a bunch of restorers, airplane parts makers, etc. into a group to share ideas, tricks, and techniques for shaping metal for patch panels, new parts, and everything else imaginable. He and the group had been mentioned in many magazines, and Terry was a member of the IML group as well. Last time I was at his shop, there were several hemis sitting around (tho I do not know what they had come out of).

Terry was a wonderful man who I had spoken with, exchanged many e-mails, and spent the day with a couple of times at his shop. I was really looking forward to his helping me as I continue with my '63 Crown convertible. He was a kid at heart, an instant friend to all who met him, a fine guy devoted to solving many of the problems we face as we maintain and restore our Imperials.

I knew that anyone who might not know this would want to know. As far as memorials go, Terry had a special request for his remains and his wife is asking for help on this from his local drag racing buddies (I don't know what the request was, I just know that much). The family wants to wait until after Christmas to have a service.

Anyway -- if you knew Terry Cowan or knew of Terry Cowan...... I knew you would want to know about this.
