IML: Backup switch update...

Following my previous post about my problems with the chromatic mirror and
the backup light always on, and the temporary solution I've found by
wiggling the connector to the backup switch on the transmission, I now
noticed that the mirror still works but the backlight won't lit anymore. I
checked the fuse of course and it looks good. Could it still be the backup
switch on the transmission? I don't know if that would be related but twice
tonight, the engine stalled when slowing down. It never did that before so
I'm a little bit puzzled. That's my Imperial 93, BTW.

Any help, pointer or info greatly appreciated before I call my mechanic...
