This weekend my S/O and I had planned a little fall getaway to comemmorate 2 years of her putting up with me. Destination: Shepherdstown, WV, the oldest town in WV. After some wheeling and dealing I got her to agree to take the yellow '67 coupe. It was a beautiful wekeend for a drive in the Imperial. I filled up with gas in Baltimore, picked her up at her office in D.C. Friday afternoon, then we drove straight to Shepherdstown, via 270 and I70, then onto rt 34 which takes you straight into WV. On the way home, After passing Frederick, MD on I70, I got off and took 2 lane country roads home. Though the roads were twisty, and the leaves falling, the Imperial handled beautifully. Despite its size, its more fun driving it at 50 mph on some twisty country roads than 90 on the open highway. The weather was perfect- sunny and 70 degrees- and the windows were down and the radio going. The best parts about the whole trip, carwise, anyway (*grin*) were the spectacular photos taken from the car while driving through the country, the pictures of the small town we stayed in, and the fact that for the whole trip, I didn't even use one tank of gas. I had changed the oil before we left, and had 4 brand new whitewalls installed, and the car worked....perfectly. *sigh* Well, back to the real world! ===== --Mike Pittinaro Beautiful Boxcar American Grandeur and Danish modern Style __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
