Hi, Thanks Michael for the support !!! I'm just listing the 55-57 remaining Chrysler bulletins. And i've found some very interesting things about "Centerplane brakes" and how to remedy when they are noisy. It's the #496 bulletin (3/26/1956) Ther's the answer about "where must we hook the return spring" because as you know ther's two possibilities : - in the hole of the web shoe - in the small loop at the outside of the shoe The bulletin says (i try to translate, it is in french !!) : If the rear brakes are growling, you must replace the shoes with the "new" shoes # 1674001 (replace 1631809) and "new" springs # 1672001. When you install the new shoes, you must hook the spring in the loop and not in the hole. You must hook the longer end of the spring in the loop. (...) The "new" spring will be only use on rear springs. (..) The new shoes could also be used on the front brakes (with 1409970 spring). Never install the new (rear) springs on front brake or never engage in the loop of the front shoes. The text doesn't say but i suppose that the old shoes hadn't the spring "loop". --
