I'm sorry if this makes me a tease, but after much discussion, my wife and I have decided to "hold" the sale of the '73 Coupe. (My wagon is getting some action on the 'bay, which also helps.) She really likes the coupe, and I think she attaches a lot of good memories to it. Add that to the fact that we've never really "enjoyed" the car together, (she drove it in MI while I was in AZ) the idea of his/her's Cantalope/Banana color '73s, (plus all this recent fuselage love) and well, uh... I just can't pull the trigger. Thus I apologize if I wasted anyone's time. I've pulled the ad from the IML classifieds. This is a side effect of liking old Mopars too much! However, I will share an amusing side effect... Within 30 minutes of posting that ad, I already had a few people from Nigeria, Ireland, and South America who also wanted to buy the car.... How about that? I decided to reply to one of those offers, just to see if these morons actually read the response. It went something like this... ----------------------- > My name is Susan Lopez,I`m living in Ireland. I > will like to purchase your (Rare 1973 LeBaron > Coupe)and get back to me with this questions below: > (A) present conditions ... Right now, it's on fire in my driveway. > (B) the reason why you want to sell.. I found dead bodies in the trunk, and believe it may be haunted. > C) bottom price before i make out my payment mode.. $270,000 Then I received this reply... I have finally discussed with the buyer and he has accepted to purchase your property at the price stated,he hopes that the Rare 1973 LeBaron is in good condition. He can't wait to see this property in his location. He deposited cashiers check of ($310,000)before he travelled to Japan on a business trip, for a cancelled order and its shipment charges etc, but it was unfortunately sold. The amount on the check he deposited for the order is bigger than what should be paid to you now, so the check is now meant for the total expenses which includes the purchase of your Rare 1973 LeBaron, the pick up of the property from its present location.... Blah, blah, blah for about another five paragraphs of complex details. These Nigerian (Irish?) scam artists should realize that we Americans DO NOT have the attention span to read through all that jibberish. At least if you're going to scam me, don't make me read so much!!! Carmine F. (1) 61 LeBaron (2) 73's _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
