Re the dash
colours
If I was
going to change the interior colours I would first check the Data Plate to see
what the vehicles original interior trim and body colour was. If you are going
to change the original interior colour scheme then does it really matter what
colour you decide the dash to be? I have seen the dash colour of a number of
Imps changed to suit the body colour. It was common to see red or black
or white
convertibles with red or black dash's. If you decide that the interior is
going to be red because the body is black then mail me off list as I have some
pics of Imps with that colour scheme and you will see what the finished colours
will look like.
I may be
stating the obvious here but have a thorough look through all the 1961 info on
the club site. There is a ton of info there. http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1961/index.htm
I believe the
carpet was a long cut loop and I am looking for this myself. Of all the places
that state they can supply the correct carpet none of them can supply the
correct length of the pile. It is very hard to get. I too would be interested in
finding a supplier of the correct carpet. I will probably find it in some
obscure little old carpet place in the outback somewhere.
