That means that the B pillar does not extend all the way to the roof. It was stated that a hardtop does not have a B pillar. That is a bit confusing. The B-pillar exists even on the hardtop, that's where the rear door hinges bolt on, and that's where the front door latches on. However, the B-pillar does not extend all the way to the roof, for styling reasons. Obviously, some compromize in the car structure takes place, but its not as bad as a convertible, and also our Imperials have very strong structures, so a small compromize may be OK.
