Hello All,
Running warm is what we are doing here in SO.Cal hitting the 100 degree mark in the high desert today.
In reading the past posts concerning the wire in the lower radiator hose. I can remember a time when I first started my automotive hobby, In replacing a lower radiator hose I was baffled as to why someone had stuffed that wire in the hose. I promptly removed it not knowing any better. I was getting ready for a long trip from the SF Bay area to So Cal at the time of this work. During the trip on I-5 in the scorching heat in no mans land my radiator hose blew up sending water and rad fluid all over my windscreen, non the less high humidity to boot.
Before the experience was over I had to walk some 5-6 miles to a gas station to purchase 3-4 gallons of water and a hose, then the walk back. Needless to say I consumed almost one gallon of the water on the walk back to the car.
Lesson learned... Never remove that wire...
