I've been away for the last week, but I think I know the ad you refer to - it is was apparently run in various magazines in early October 1967, showing the "new" 1968 Imperial 4 Door Crown HT. The one I have is from the October 6, 1967 issue of "Time" magazine. It shows a car in a very "San Diego - ish" neighborhood. The car is gold with an accent stripe of the cream color. My 68 is painted like this, although that is not original to my car. The original owner (a friend of mine, now deceased) ordered one painted this way, probably after seeing this ad, but none were available at the time, so he had Cunningham Motors (still in business in San Diego, although now selling BMWs) add the contrasting color to the car. I gather at least 3 other cars have surfaced with this paint treatment. I'll reserve comment as to whether it is an improvement in appearance or not, other than to note that Chrysler apparently didn't think so, since they didn't offer it in the options list.
