I just drove my 76 NYB from Michigan to North Carolina. Driving around the suburbs of Detroit I got 11.2 miles per gallon. On the long interstate trip I got 14.5 miles per gallon. I would say 12 miles per gallon is a good estimate for a normal mix of driving conditions. I certainly wouldn't expect more than that.
