Hi

I am surprised not to have heard anyone tell  the "brake fluid fix" power
steering story. Here's mine: I had a 1976 Ranchero with a leaky power
steering pump. The father of a friend, an old time mechanic, said to  put no
more than 1 teaspoon of brake fluid in it and it will stop. He also said if
it doesn't stop or if it starts to leak again you will have to rebuild or
replace it. To mak a long story short, when I got rid of the car 5 or 6
years later I threw in the rebuilt power steering pump I never installed.

Hi Gang. Been talk of Power Steering Pump rebuilds and what not, and I seem
to remember someone mentioning a few months ago specifics about replacing
the hoses: something about a certain kind of high pressure hose that the
NAPA counter guys will sometimes not pay attention to, giving you a hose
that is perhaps not high grade enoughScan anyone help me with the details?
Also, how does one pull off the pulley so that I can open it up and replace
