Is this Imperial located in Southern California? If so, I may be able
to help you with the title/VIN problem as I am a DMV licensed vehicle
verifier.

I hate to say this, but the easiest thing may be to find
another 67 Imperial and use this one for parts to repair the other. I figure
there is probably someone on the list who has a shell of a 67 Imperial in need
of a loving home. Tell us more about your 4 door hardtop, it may help make the
decision easier. If the rest of the car is nice, it may be worth the double
hassle of both reassembling and dealing with the title and vin
issues.
Its just I'm very leery of messing with a car that has
registration problems, the potential hassle isnt worth it, in my
opinion.
