Actually, I've found that Zymol (two dots above the
'o') makes a great car wax and leather conditioner. I
use their leather treatment on every piece of dead cow
I own, and the wax on every car. My girlfriend's 10
year old black toyota was about the ugliest car
imagineable, one coat of Zymol and it shines like new.

Silicones are also horrible for vinyl, as they tend to
collect in tiny little hemispheres that amplify light
and accelerate sunlight damage. makes it shine all
crazy in the meantime, though.
