76 vs 77 NYB

Alan,

There's not a whole lot of differences at a glance. They use the same trim
and detailing (grilles, wheel covers, etc.) for the most part.

Some clues:

The VIN, obviously: The sixth character will be a 6 for 1976, a 7 for 1977.

The sticker on the driver's door will also list the build date, with the
changeover in September (not clear on exact date, but someone on this list,
probably the endlessly knowledgeable Bill Watson, surely is).

If it's a 440, the presence of Lean Burn indicates it's a 1977. Officially,
Lean Burn was limited to the 400 engine in 1976. The 360 was not available
in the NYB until 1977. (The 440 was standard both years, with the smaller
engine(s) optional.)

Other than that, and some color/trim choices, they are largely the same.
It's the 78s that had numerous visible differences (suggesting that Chrysler
did not intend 1978 to be final year).
