Brake Booster and duct tape

Thanks everyone for the helpful responses here. As I stated in my original post, I know that duct tape is not a solution to this problem and only lasted the seven miles that I drove the car. There is still problems with the engine, but I don't think a rebuild is necessary at this time. The engine ran better when the brakes were applied, whereas before putting on the tape, as soon as the brakes were applied the engine would die out. I plan on taking the unit up to Karps sometime after the holidays for a complete rebuild, if I can figure out some way to remove it from the car. I had driven the car home from the mechanic with the hole in the booster, and it was a very scary experience trying to stop it, and if I had been in an emergency situation, even if I threw an elephant on the brake pedal, there still would have been minimal stopping power, about as good as my emergency brake.
