Re: FW: IML: 56 Imperial is there another engine other than a Hemi head ??

Here's a link to a fellow who has built a Hemi out of a 354 Poly block. I
think the important thing is to keep the heads and block in the same family,
Chrysler heads on Chrysler blocks, Dodge on Dodge and Desoto with Desoto.
Sorry I don't have a better link, but this fellow built one to use in his
Barracuda.

This was also covered in several of the Mopar magazines, I just don't have
the issues handy for reference at the moment. But,as rare and pricy as the
Firepower 392s have become, this may be a 2nd alternative for those folks
restoring Hemi Imperials until they can find the correct pieces.

block. For one thing, I think that the pushrods are at way different angles
in each engine. I have had three Hemi engines apart, but I haven't ever seen
the "lesser" engine disassembled. The pistons are not "domed" in the 331 or
354 Hemi engines.
