What year is the car? If you come across that diagram I'd love to see it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robin Giesbrecht" <robings@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, November 24, 2003 11:01 PM Subject: IML: auto temp II I found the reason my fan would not work. The blower master switch, which is controlled by vacuum that is , in turn controlled by the cold switch on the bottom of the servo, does not work. Book says you need 8" of vacuum to make this switch and I had more than that at the switch and no contact. Now by shorting those two leads that the switch is supposed to make I have a functioning fan/blower. So I have to find a new vacuum switch. This one is green and it is located beside an identical looking switch(the yellow compressor switch)which, in turn, are mounted on the side of the "computer" under the passenger side dash near the vent. A word on that "computer". That is 1960 technology and there sure isn't much to this so called computer. I popped mine apart and found a dead diode along with a lot of dirt. So I will replace the diode and the vacuum switch and see what happens. The technician documents on the sight are an invaluable resource and I was also able to check and adjust my servo with instructions sent to me from a list member. Thanks. Maybe I will finally be able to get the air con working properly without spending lots of money. Anybody have a circuit diagram of the computer? Robin Giesbrecht
