Subject: IML: Convertible Tops & Windows

   Hi, Group!!
Today, a friend of mine called the company that supplies convertible tops for the guy that puts them on for him.  He asked about a top for a '68 Imperial convert.  He asked about getting one with a glass back window.
First, the woman at the top shop didn't know what an Imperial was.  My friend told her it was built by Chrysler. She had to look it up in a book.  It wasn't in there. Then she said she had to call Chrysler. She came back with this; The Imperial in '68 only had a vinyl rear window. The '69 had the glass rear window. That's right, she said the '69 had a glass rear window.
Now, my '68 dealer's brochure says that the Imperial convertible had a glass rear window. My car has a vinyl window, but I know that it is not the original top.
I am trying to find a top (black) with pads and cables and I'd prefer a glass back window. If any of you '67 and '68 convertible owners can shed some light on my situation, then my Imperial will be all the more better for it. (Can I say that?)
    Thanks,
    Keith
