Or, you can use a pitmen arm puller (whatever the name is) that you can borrow
from Autozone. Its easier on the parts than the pickle fork.
Opening up Imperial ball joints is not fun. They are massive, and the pickle
fork did not work for me. I do not think you can get a puller for that. I do
not remember how I had it done. If you have a lift though, you may do it the
way the shops do it. They removed the bolt that holds the ball joint with the
car up high. Then they put a massive stand to "catch" the lower control arm,
and they started hitting the spindle with a BIG hummer. The combination of
spring force from the torsion bar and vibration got the ball joint loose. They
had to do al that by the way to replace the front shocks...
